Amgalan Chin grew up between Ulan-Ude and Saint Petersburg, on a domestic geography where tea has always arrived overland — pressed, aged, and unhurried. His work for Teamotea sits on that same axis: he is the cross-regional specialist who tracks Shēng Pǔ'ěr (生普洱) and Shú Pǔ'ěr (熟普洱) from the old Russian–Mongolian trade routes back to their source, and from source forward into the cake of next decade.

On tea.yoga, Amgalan leads the sheng and aged-tea threads. He is the resident voice for practitioners asking what to drink when the body is opening slowly — pre-dawn Mysore, long yin holds, restorative sequences that ask for grounding rather than lift. His thread "Aged sheng for evening restoratives" walks through three 2008–2012 Bulang cakes and how a fifth or sixth infusion behaves under a 90-minute yin practice. "Caffeine and prāṇāyāma — does the order matter?" is his longer essay on stimulant timing, Wò Duī (渥堆) fermentation, and why he personally drinks aged shú before nāḍī śodhana and never the reverse.

He hosts two community gatherings each year. The first, "Morning Mysore + máo chá tasting" (毛茶), runs as a small Saint Petersburg studio series — self-practice from 06:00, then sun-on-the-floor tasting of unpressed Yiwu and Bulang leaf with whoever stays. The second, "Silent retreat — aged tea, breath, no phones," is a five-day Caucasus residency for twelve practitioners: dawn sit, two long sessions of breath work, three sittings of aged sheng from his personal press, and complete vocal silence between meals. Both fill quietly through tea.community and tea.events without any urgency campaign — which is, he would say, the point.

Amgalan's technical work spans Teamotea's wider constellation. He curates the aged-sheng vertical at puerh.app, advises the storage protocols carried on shop.thetea.app and shop.puerh.app, and teaches a module on Russian–Mongolian caravan tea at tea.school each spring. Practitioners who want to study aging seriously usually meet him first through tea.degree's pu-erh certificate track.

He is reachable through the community directory. He will rarely answer a question about energy or alertness without first asking what time the questioner sat down to practise, and what they ate the night before — which is, again, the point.
